Almond Banana Bites

1 cup almond meal/flour
1 cup flax seed powder/flour
1/2 cup dark chocolate chips (optional)
3 large bananas
3 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons orange zest
4 cups pure vegetable oil (for frying)

Peel and mash bananas and add the rest of the ingredients.

Heat oil in a heavy bottomed pot over medium heat until it's hot. Drop teaspoonfuls of the batter into hot oil (about 6 at a time). Fry until golden on all sides turning frequently (about 5 minutes). Remove fritters from the oil with a slotted spoon. Drain on paper towels. Repeat process until all the batter is used up.

Serve warm with favorite dipping sauce of your choice.
